Plan a China–Hong Kong project

Coordinate the work between your mainland China and Hong Kong locations around a shared business outcome. Express Projects connects site readiness, installation, workload migration and provider connectivity in one delivery plan. Each workstream retains its own approvals, tests and operational owner.

What to prepare

  • Business outcome, origin/destination sites and local contacts
  • Equipment and application dependencies, including what actually moves
  • Provider arrangements, permitted interruption and sign-off owners

What you receive

  • Connected project scope with separate workstream owners
  • Origin/destination readiness and phased change plan
  • Acceptance evidence and cross-location operating handover

Conceptual planning view. Final architecture is agreed for the project.

Separate four connected workstreams

Map equipment handling, site installation, workload migration and connectivity independently. Each needs its own provider, approval and acceptance criteria. The conceptual architecture links origin and destination sites through the selected network service; it does not represent an owned Express network.

Prepare both sides before the change

Confirm rack, power, cooling, access, provider circuits and cloud dependencies. Sequence installation and migration around a permitted change window. Record equipment supply, physical transport, installation and workload migration as separate responsibilities. Agree any customs, export or specialist contractor involvement with the responsible provider before work begins.

Accept each layer before project handover

Verify equipment records, installed connections and the agreed application paths. Keep rollback decisions and unresolved dependencies visible. Handover separates IT operations from facility, supplier and connectivity-provider responsibilities so later incidents reach the right owner.

Questions before you start

Run China–Hong Kong IT work as a connected programme, with distinct plans for equipment, workloads, connectivity and continuing operations.

Is cross-border transport the same as connectivity?

No. Moving equipment and providing an application network path require different providers, approvals and tests.

Can a project include new installation rather than relocation?

Yes. The scope can assess a new site, an equipment move or workload migration. Identify which activities you need rather than assuming all are included.
