Give application teams a clear infrastructure and operating baseline. Express Projects plans workload placement, connectivity, access, monitoring and recovery with the owners of the software and platforms involved. The scope defines the infrastructure work to deliver and the application or engineering responsibilities your team retains.
What to prepare
- Workload map, deployment environments and application dependencies
- Platform, identity, network and engineering-team ownership
- Business recovery needs, backup arrangements and operating constraints
What you receive
- Placement and dependency assessment
- Operational visibility and access responsibility map
- Testable restoration and handover plan
Map the workload and environment boundaries
List applications, dependencies, cloud or physical environments and the teams that operate them. Identify placement, connectivity, identity and licensing questions before changing infrastructure. Mainland and global account environments need separate assessment where relevant.
Make operational visibility actionable
Agree which signals matter, who receives them and what an operator is authorized to do. Monitoring alone is not an incident process. Define configuration records, access controls, escalation and responsibilities across the customer, platform and infrastructure teams.
Design recovery as a tested workflow
Identify the functions to restore first and their data, identity and network dependencies. Define backup handling and practical restoration tests before setting commitments. A recovery runbook should record decision-makers, sequence and validation rather than offer an unsupported availability percentage.
