Hybrid cloud for Asian operations

Use workload placement and responsibility boundaries to plan regional hybrid operations.

For regional operations, workload location and operating ownership belong in the same decision. Use this guide to identify the systems, teams and provider dependencies behind a hybrid-cloud design before choosing how the environments will connect.

Choose locations with workload owners

Record application dependencies, data location, capacity and access needs. Compare local and cloud placement for each workload. Assess mainland China and global environments independently rather than assuming one account or service model.

Draw the management boundaries

AWS explains that cloud security responsibility is shared and depends on the service. Use the chosen provider’s actual model to assign identities, workload configuration, monitoring and backup; a provider account does not remove customer decisions.

Test the paths between environments

Name the network, identity and provider dependencies between locations. Agree application validation and recovery tests, then hand over configuration, monitoring and change responsibility. More platforms do not automatically remove shared failure points.

Technical reference

AWS Shared Responsibility Model: aws.amazon.com Apply the responsibilities of the selected service; this reference does not establish Express partner status.

Does a cloud provider manage our whole application?

Check the specific service and contract; workload responsibilities remain to be assigned.

Does adding a second cloud prove resilience?

No. Test dependencies and recovery paths rather than assuming independence.
